Overview :
A fast-growing value-based care organization is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support financial operations and strategic initiatives. This role is focused on improving data accuracy, supporting monthly financial processes, and delivering insights that inform key decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working with large datasets in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
Healthcare Data Analysis & Reconciliation
Analyze claims, utilization, and cost data to identify trends and areas for financial optimization.
Perform detailed reconciliations between internal and external data sources.
Act as a liaison for data file requests, gap resolution, and supplemental reporting needs.
Forecasting & Financial Modeling
Develop and maintain models to project medical costs and revenue under various scenarios.
Collaborate with department leaders to align financial assumptions with strategic goals.
Prepare variance analyses and financial reports for senior stakeholders.
Conduct ad hoc analyses to support special projects and investment evaluations.
Monthly Close & Reserving Support
Assist in the development and selection of incurred but not reported (IBNR) estimates.
Contribute to the monthly financial close process through timely and accurate reporting.
Performance Monitoring & Strategic Evaluation
Track and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
Partner with operational teams to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
Evaluate the financial impact of healthcare programs and policy changes.
Support the development of executive dashboards to monitor performance against targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with teams across finance, IT, operations, and accounting to improve data quality and streamline reporting workflows.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
2-5 years of actuarial or analytical experience in healthcare
Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, modeling, and variance analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SQL (2+ years)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
