1. Participate as a team member of IEPT when appointed by Director / designee.
2. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary evaluation team when appointed by the director / designee.
3. Provide direct services for students when included in an IEP plan.
4. Develop and update goals and objectives in writing and specific and measurable terms for each assigned student.
5. Work with students, parents, teachers, and others in establishing and implementing a special education program in the least restrictive environment as prescribed by the IEPC.
6. Maintain open communication among teachers, administration, support staff, and parents.
7. Provide in-service training to education staff, community organizations, etc., with prior approval of the Director / designee.
8. Maintain accurate records as required by the ISD., including monthly caseload reports.
9. Assume responsibility for keeping informed of current developments in own field and related fields of special education.
10. Assume responsibility to transport self to assigned worksite(s)
11. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
12. Maintain an attitude of mutual respect and tolerance of other professionals, students, and parents.
13. Must pass a criminal history background investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
14. Perform other related duties assigned by the Director of Special Education or designee.
