Job Title : Design Engineer - Propulsion & Chassis
Job Description
Join a leading technology company in the Chassis, Propulsion, and Architectural Design Group. You will be responsible for the design and validation of parts within Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems (RESS) in advanced product development. This role involves working on plastic ICS boards or Bus Bars, designing advanced parts for RESS components.
Responsibilities
- Design highly complex components and simple sub-systems.
- Provide technical design leadership for major sub-systems.
- Mentor and coach other designers.
- Ensure communication between sub-system groups.
- Verify the quality of design team output.
- Lead design reviews.
- Resolve technical design conflicts.
- Follow corporate standards and policies.
- Assess buildability, manufacturability, and integration with Lead Design Engineer and Design Managers.
- Advise first-line supervisors of project status, timing, resource availability, and capability.
- Assist in establishing design completion dates.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in NX, with at least 3 years of experience in NX Design.Engineering or Technical Degree.Experience with Evaluation Tools such as Pre / Post, Topology Optimize, and Mold Flow.Advanced knowledge of CAD, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, part tolerancing, and math data management skills with 9+ years of experience.Familiarity with email communication tools.Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration.Excellent written and oral communication skills for leading meetings and virtual events.Teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with others.Ability to work independently with moderate direction from management.Leadership and mentoring skills necessary to support and provide constructive performance feedback to designers.Knowledge in engineering / design commodity group and global safety standards and SAE guidelines.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Plastics and Metal Stampings.Automotive industry experience.Understanding of part validation, topology optimization, and Mold Flow.Compensation & Benefits
Pay range : $28.50 - $48.00 / hr.

This is a hybrid position in Detroit, MI.
