Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is seeking experienced aircraft structural engineers capable of detailed stress analysis to support U.S. DoD and commercial projects. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK.
Responsibilities :
Perform heavy maintenance check repair support, both liaison and stress analysis, on Boeing 707 military airframe structure
Develop repair instructions
Liaise with shop floor to obtain data and inspection results and explain and steer repair concepts
Evaluate repairs with stress analysis, both static and fatigue
Conduct fatigue evaluations, peak stress comparisons
Use hand calculations, program tools, and industry reference documents
Deliver analyses reports using provided templates
Initiate repairs of varying complexity and prepare static strength / fatigue analysis of engineering repair dispositions for nonconforming aircraft structure
Provide oversight and technical direction to less experienced engineers
Interact with customer engineering representatives and airframe repair artisans
Implement creativity and flexibility in daily activities by relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Required Qualifications :
7+ years of work experience in airframe repair and analysis
Bachelor's degree in engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university
Mechanical or aerospace preferred
Ability to use Finite Element Software pre and post processors such as Nastran / Patran and Femap
Knowledge of maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry
Experience with designing and substantiating aircraft repairs
Usable knowledge of aircraft static strength analysis methods and strain life fatigue methods
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and self-motivate
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree
Mechanical or aerospace preferred
10+ years of experience in stress analysis
Experience with NAVAIR or Air Force engineering and reporting procedures
Product development work experience as a stress engineer
