Primary Responsibilities

• Support grid-scale BESS projects by developing conceptual layouts, one-line diagrams, and detailed design packages for construction.
• Evaluate energy storage technologies, products, vendors, and support client technology and vendor selection.
• Develop detailed electrical designs for microgrid and distributed energy resources projects.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents at various project milestones.
• Assist clients in identifying and implementing use-cases for battery energy storage systems in centralized and distributed locations.
• Write technical reports explaining BESS concepts, use-cases, and feasibility studies for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, fire & life safety, high-voltage electrical, SCADA / telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to produce complete design packages.
• Participate in design reviews with stakeholders and permitting agencies.
• Contribute to internal design guidelines, catalogs, and templates for BESS projects.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control on work produced by team members.
• Provide technical support during construction, including review of submittals, RFIs, progress reports, and change orders.
• Engage in client, contractor, and vendor meetings to support business development and project execution.
• Manage project workload to ensure timely delivery of documents.
• Mentor junior team members and support team development.
• Offer technical assistance to HDR teams and clients.

Position locations include Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ; Reno, NV; and Las Vegas, NV. The salary range is $83,930 - $119,900, depending on experience and location.
