Sr Electrical Engineer

Location :

This is a hybrid (virtual / onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Owosso Service Centerlocated in Owosso, MI or Lansing Service Center located in Lansing, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for engineering and design to support the sustainable operation of our distribution, generation, and storage systems. The incumbent works with teams across the organization and with external stakeholders, leads complex technical projects, and may manage the work of lower-level engineers and technicians as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, and testing activities.
• Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials, and estimate material, labor, and construction costs for budget preparation.
• Ensure that installations and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, and topographical maps to investigate and resolve project issues in a timely manner.
• Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with clients for all electrical engineering project matters.
• Manage the development and implementation of electrical systems.
• Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, and systems for industrial, commercial, and domestic purposes.
• Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects, monitor project progress and budget, and prepare reports for upper management.
• Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies and provide technical support to other departments and personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.
