Qualifications :

Education / Certification :

High school diploma or GED

Bachelor's Degree, preferred,not required

Special Knowledge / Skills :

Experience with computer mainframes and computer software

Be able to use personal computer and software; Knowledge of TEA's, TEASE, TEAL, TSDS, UID, TREX software.

Knowledge of Student Attendance Handbook

Knowledge of Public Education Information Management System

Experience :

Experience / Knowledge in attendance, student registration, state testing, and student data management; Experience handling confidential and sensitive information

Major Responsibilities and Duties :

Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards.

Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and human resource office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlines.

Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.

Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using computer terminal or personal computer.

Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.

Coordinate the district's attendance eligibility and accounting procedures.

Oversee attendance clerk's data input responsibilities and assist in determining residency status of new students.

Coordinate the district's registration process, records collection, and records maintenance in accordance with State, Federal, and Local policy.

Oversee, manage, train, and support all campus registrars, district and campus registration events and processes, data input, records management, and reporting activity.

Share responsibilities with the district's technology department for all software applications; has primary responsibility for software applications regarding grade reporting, scheduling, attendance, testing, student performance, accountability, and maximizing efficient data integration.

Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

Check edits and verification reports on data to ensure the accuracy of information.

Training and Technical Support

Provide training and support to campuses and to business and human resource office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data through Ascender, Skyward, and ODS.

Provide training and support to campuses in the area of registration, attendance, discipline data entry, student data information systems, and student testing platforms.

Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.

Provide support / troubleshooting in all areas of student services / student information systems software.

Other

Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Other duties as assigned.
