Job Overview
Our multidisciplinary MEP engineering and design client is seeking a Plumbing Engineer with MEP design experience to join the growing team. This individual will play a key role in designing plumbing systems, collaborating with other disciplines, and ensuring successful project delivery.
The Plumbing Engineer will be responsible for the design and coordination of plumbing systems within the context of MEP building services. The role includes system calculations, code compliance, documentation, and construction support. Responsibilities
- Design plumbing systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, institutional, and mixed-use projects.
- Perform calculations for domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, medical gas, natural gas, and fire protection systems.
- Develop detailed plumbing drawings, schematics, and specifications in coordination with architectural and structural disciplines.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., IPC, NFPA, LEED).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD / Revit designers to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
- Participate in client meetings and present design concepts as needed.
- Stay current with industry standards, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3–7 years of experience in plumbing system design within an MEP engineering or consulting firmEIT or PE license preferred (or actively pursuing).Proficiency with AutoCAD & RevitKnowledge of applicable codes (IPC, ASPE, NFPA, local building codes).Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a team-oriented environment.What We Offer
