What Sets an LTAC Nurse Apart?
Care for patients who need longer-term acute care vs. short acute admissions.
Ability to build deeper relationships with patients and families due to extended stays.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer / Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
Provide direct patient care to medically complex and / or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals (Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, and more) to create and carry out individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge planning, and community resources
Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced wound care per physician order and protocols
Manage complex comorbidities such as sepsis, cardiac issues, strokes, post-surgery recovery, and chronic illness management
May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
Qualifications
Current unrestricted RN License in the state you are applying
Current BLS certification
ACLS Certification
Required within 90 days of hire (reimbursement provided).
Must be active Day 1 for all Charge, High Observation, and ICU roles.
Experience : One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
A few things that aren't required, but we would prefer :
Having prior experience in emergency or critical care environments
A higher comfort level working with vents / trachs / PICC lines, etc.
Having 2 years of experience in direct patient care
