We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior HR Generalist to play a key role in our growing team.
As the HR lead for our 100-employee plumbing and HVAC company, you'll be at the heart of shaping a positive, safe, and compliant workplace.
You’ll work closely with leadership, employees, and an external HR consultant to develop policies, address employee relations issues, and ensure our HR and safety practices align with all employment laws and regulations.

If you're ready to make a real impact on both the company and its people, we’d love to have you on board! Key Responsibilities Develop and implement HR policies to mitigate legal risks.
Revise and maintain the employee handbook to reflect current company policies and legal requirements.
Act as a trusted resource for employee concerns, providing support and guidance for workplace matters.
Stay current on employment laws and industry regulations, proactively applying updates to maintain company compliance.
Establish, lead, and maintain an effective Safety Committee , ensuring participation, accountability, and ongoing improvement in workplace safety initiatives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for workplace injuries and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigation, and coordination with management, employees, and insurance providers to support safe and compliant resolution.
Partner with all department managers to anticipate staffing needs and develop effective strategies to recruit, hire and retain qualified candidates.
Lead a seamless onboarding process to ensure every new team member experiences a positive, organized, and safety-conscious introduction to the company.
Act as an employee champion by ensuring regular one-on-one meetings occur, supporting employees in meeting their career objectives, and partnering with department managers to guide team members along their defined Career Path for growth and advancement.
Partner with managers on disciplinary actions, ensuring documentation, fairness, and consistency.
Guide managers through the termination process, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance.
Conduct insightful exit interviews to capture feedback for continuous improvement.
Facilitate the annual benefits renewal process and assist employees with enrollment and benefits administration.
Track and manage employee leave, benefits participation, and other essential HR data.
Partner with leadership to evaluate and enhance compensation strategies for internal equity and market competitiveness.
Maintain accurate and compliant HR records in physical and digital formats. Qualifications Five (5)+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a mid-sized organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
In-depth understanding of employment laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices.
Experience in standalone or single-incumbent HR roles is a strong advantage.
Proven experience establishing and managing safety programs and committees Experience in recruiting and onboarding employees.
Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
