We are looking for a Die Setter
1st Shift 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM
2nd Shift 3 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM
3rd Shift 11 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM
We are looking for someone with Powder metal experience is mandatory for this role. Adjusting the press involves calibrating various settings, such as pressure, compaction speed, and dwell time, to achieve the desired density and dimensions of the compacted part. As a press operator, your role in inspecting parts is crucial. You'll be responsible for ensuring the compacted parts' dimensions, weights, and density meet specifications. Your constant review of parts processed after the delube oven to make necessary adjustments is a key part of our quality control process. If any problems arise during the compaction process or delube oven, such as defects or malfunctions, troubleshoot and implement solutions; if the problem continues, stop production for nonconforming or suspect product. Production records, including the quantity of pieces produced, scrap, suspect material, and any issues encountered, along with adjustments made, are maintained. Assist in sorting and rework of discrepant preforms / forgings as required. Performing daily 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) as required. Perform tap & go on shift change. Participate in maintenance activities as required. Active participation in improvement suggestions or projects.
Requirements
Powder metal compacting (5+ years preferred). Hands-on experience with mechanical / hydraulic presses (Cincinnati 550) for powdered metal compacting. Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robot knowledge. Familiarity with the metallurgical properties of ferrous / non-ferrous powders and forgings. Blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Quality inspection tools : micrometers, hardness testers, CMM. Must have a HS Diploma.
