Salary : $30-$40 / hr.
LA Semiconductor is seeking a skilled and safety-focused HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial chillers that support critical systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, process cooling, and the unique environmental demands of cleanroom manufacturing.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Diagnose and repair centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers, including those used for ultra-pure water (UPW) and HVAC systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated control systems.
- Monitor and respond to alarms related to chilled systems.
- Maintain proper documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, EPA regulations (refrigerant handling), and cleanroom standards.
- Assist with equipment installations, retrofits, and system upgrades.
- Support emergency repairs and respond to on-call duties as required.
Required Skills & Abilities :
Minimum 35 years of experience in chiller repair and maintenance, or related refrigeration discipline. Preferably in semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial manufacturing environments.Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, compressors, expansion valves, and control logic.EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.Ability to work in a team environment. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to interface effectively with other groups and maintain organization with ability to prioritize one's tasks.Experience with Trane, Carrier, or York chillers.Experience in industrial manufacturing chiller systemsKnowledge of PLC or DDC controls and ability to interface with automated building systems.Basic electrical troubleshooting and controls knowledge.Strong attention to detail, with a focus on system uptime and process stability.Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in cleanroom attire (gowning).Education :
Bachelors Degree, Associate Degree, or Trade certifications in one of the following areas preferred- Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing / Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Program + 6 years of related experience10+ years of Equivalent Experience in leu of degree in one of the following, Operating, Maintaining, Repair, or Installation of Industrial mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Chemicals, Hazardous gas, material handling systems, Advanced troubleshooting skills, Advanced SCADA / ControlsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.Benefits :
