Contracts Support Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Contracts Support Specialist to support a high-priority Department of Defense space program in El Segundo, CA. This position requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Responsibilities : As a Contracts Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting senior Space Force leadership and program management in acquisition and contracting efforts. Your tasks will include :

  • Advising on acquisition strategies, contracting procedures, budget planning, and execution processes.
  • Preparing and drafting essential documentation including ESIS, ASP, ASD, J&A, and Source Selection Strategies.
  • Assisting technical teams with the development of Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), and incentive planning.
  • Supporting contract negotiations, assessing price reasonableness, and managing contract administration and termination actions.
  • Coordinating and preparing contract modifications such as funding actions, award fees, performance period extensions, and administrative updates.
  • Developing and managing overarching program planning documents in alignment with DoDI 5000.02 and relevant DoD, Air Force, and Space Systems Command policies.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience including :
  • Federal contracting regulations and procurement procedures.
  • DoD Major Capability Acquisition System processes.
  • Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).
  • Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE) processes.
  • Active T5 or SSBI background investigation, adjudicated for SCI, and enrolled in Continuous Evaluation (if applicable).
  • Willingness to be nominated for Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs, with consent to a Polygraph examination.

    • Desired Skills :

  • Professional certification such as PMP.
  • Experience within the National Security Space domain.
  • Background working in U.S. Government weapons system development environments or program offices.

    • Compensation :

  • Annual salary : $140,000 to $180,000, depending on experience
  • Comprehensive Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
