The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role involves conducting routine inspections, monitoring critical control points (CCPs), and ensuring adherence to food safety standards in line with SQF and other applicable regulations. SCHEDULEMonday Through Thursday. 4am - 2 : 30pm (4 ten hour shifts)
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Conduct quality control tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, ensuring they meet established standards.Perform sensory evaluations, physical tests, and environmental swabbing to assess product quality and safety.Collect, label, store, and document retained samples for traceability and compliance.Monitor compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, HACCP, GMP) and verify critical control points (CCPs).Conduct routine inspections of production areas to identify and address potential food safety hazards.Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, audit findings, and non-conformance reports.Assist in training production staff on food safety procedures and proper quality control practices.Investigate product complaints, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to improve processes.Support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and maintaining certification standards.Collaborate with the FSQA team to enhance food safety protocols, process efficiency, and overall product consistency.Assist in training production staff on food safety and quality procedures, ensuring proper practices are always followed.Support the FSQA team in maintaining SQF certification standards and preparing for audits._Other duties and projects as assigned._SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES :Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve food safety and quality issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and quality management systems.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :High school diploma or GED required.Associate's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in food safety and quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and food safety audits.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.Work in a manufacturing environment with fluctuating temperatures and noise levels.Job Type : Full-time
