Overview
Genesis10 is seeking a Database Engineer for a 12+ contract position with a client located in Franklin, WI. This role is hybrid.
Summary : Genesis10 is currently seeking a qualified candidate as an Database Engineer who will partner with information architects, application architects, clients, and project teams to develop, maintain, and integrate information logical models. This position involves designing system solutions, implementing new features, resolving complex incidents, enhancing platform monitoring and alerts, and collaborating closely with support and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Work in agile teams to define and plan backlog tasks and deliver on team outcomes.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and apply engineering best practices to design and develop database solutions.
- Manage on-prem relational databases, with an emphasis on Db2-LUW in both engineering and DBA capacities.
- Leverage established coding standards, automation tools, and best practices to develop solutions supporting users.
- Identify and resolve complex technical problems while developing automation capabilities.
- Review and maintain software code and ensure continuous improvement of development pipelines (CI / CD).
- Write and maintain complex Unix shell and Python scripts for maintenance, automation, and testing.
- Apply ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Knowledge, and Change Management (ServiceNow experience preferred).
- Support system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Collaborate on cloud and containerized application initiatives.
- Support and enhance DevOps processes and CI / CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or Circle CI.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of professional IT experience.Experience with AIX and Linux operating systems; comfortable with CLI.Proficiency in DevOps and Agile methodologies.Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services (AWS certification preferred).Experience with containerized applications and orchestration platforms.Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks such as Terraform and CloudFormation.Understanding of networking, storage, certificates, firewalls, and vulnerability management.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Self-directed, collaborative, and able to thrive in ambiguous situations.Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills.Additional Experience Desired
Experience with Jira for agile feature and story tracking.Familiarity with AWS technologies such as Redshift, Elasticache, Iceberg, Athena, and Databricks.Hands-on experience using Terraform for AWS infrastructure management.Knowledge of database monitoring tools (ELK stack, Dynatrace, DBI).Experience with CyberArk and Hashicorp vaulting solutions.Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.Experience with observability and dashboard tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and Power BI.Knowledge of cloud security platforms like WIZ.Benefits of Working with Genesis10
