Attorney-Employment Law About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, business-savvy Employment Law Attorney to join a boutique California law firm that specializes in defending and advising employers across the state. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is passionate about helping businesses navigate and prevent employment law challenges.
You'll work directly with senior attorneys and clients, providing high-level legal counsel on complex employment matters including wage and hour disputes, class actions, PAGA claims, and compliance strategies. This is not a back-office role-you'll be front and center, shaping outcomes and building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent California employers in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff cases, class actions, and PAGA lawsuits.
- Provide proactive legal counsel on compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and workplace policies.
- Conduct internal investigations and risk assessments to help clients mitigate exposure.
- Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements and policies.
- Lead or support mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with clients to develop tailored legal strategies aligned with their business goals.
- Stay ahead of evolving California employment law trends, including New PAGA developments.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership.Minimum 5 years of experience in employment law, preferably with litigation and compliance focus.Strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws, PAGA, and class action procedures.Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with minimal supervision.Business-oriented mindset with a commitment to client service and strategic thinking.Why Join Us
