KIPP Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and passionate Exceptional Children Self Contained Teacher to join our vibrant team. This role is pivotal in providing a differentiated and highly individualized learning experience to students with exceptional needs, ensuring they develop the academic skills and strong character required for lifelong success. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative educational environment and commit to continuous professional growth to implement best practices in special education. Design and implement personalized educational strategies and teaching plans to meet the diverse needs of students in self-contained special education settings. Perform assessments to evaluate individual student progress and adjust educational plans accordingly. Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic support. Develop and manage a classroom environment conducive to the needs and safety of students with disabilities. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and school regulations and policies regarding special education. Plan and supervise assignments of teacher assistant and volunteers. Use technology to support instructional methods and enhance learning outcomes. Strong knowledge of special education practices and methods, especially for self-contained classrooms. Ability to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in utilizing educational software and supportive technologies.
