Vehicle Test Coordinator
Type of Position :
This position will begin as a long term / ongoing contract, with strong potential for direct hire conversion. There is no fixed end date. Conversion to direct hire may occur as early as 3-4 months, although most people will have a chance to convert between 6-12 months (depending on individual performance and business needs). Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.

Compensation :
$35.00 / hr to $45.00 / hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.
Benefits :
Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) benefit eligibility will begin the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
This role will have 8 paid holidays and 10 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.
Overview :
HRU Technical Resources is partnering with a major automotive manufacturer to hire a Vehicle Test Coordinator who will work at a major R&D / testing facility. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, testing, and driver coordination teams to ensure all vehicles are tested according to defined requirements. This position involves gathering, tracking, and communicating testing data, maintaining complaint reports, supporting issue resolution, and helping coordinate vehicle scheduling and special testing activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a collaborative, technically driven environment.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate and communicate current and upcoming vehicle testing requirements across multiple locations.
Track, monitor, and verify test completion using proof of performance tracking metrics.
Participate in regular meetings with engineers, station coordinators, and driver coordinators to ensure testing needs are met.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing records, complaints, and follow-up actions within ticket reporting systems.
Assist with data queries, recheck requests, and issue documentation to support continuous testing improvement.
Ensure vehicles are properly equipped and configured for assigned tests; liaise with engineers to resolve any discrepancies.
Support special test KPI tracking and maintain documentation for unique or evolving test requirements.
Spend time in test vehicles to develop a deep understanding of system performance, including ADAS and electronic systems.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment while supporting environmental reporting requirements.
Skills, Education, Experience Required :
High School Diploma or GED at a minimum. Higher level education (Associate or Bachelors Degree) is welcome (but not required).
3+ years of experience in a vehicle testing, automotive engineering, or related technical environment.
Technical training in automotive testing, vehicle systems, or engineering disciplines.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with engineering tools (ALPOS, ATP, VDS, or equivalent).
Strong organizational and problem-solving ability with a focus on process improvement and accuracy.
Ability to work hands-on with vehicles, including maneuvering and operating them safely.
Skills, Education, Experience Preferred :
Experience within automotive manufacturing or engineering test environments.
Knowledge of ADAS systems, electronic vehicle systems, and diagnostic processes.
Experience with database maintenance, KPI reporting, and documentation control.
Familiarity with Volkswagen / Audi testing systems and related procedures.
Project coordination or project management experience.
German language proficiency is a plus.
Work Environment / Other Info :
This will be a 1st (day) shift role Monday to Friday.
This will be a hybrid role based in Allendale, NJ.
There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
There may be occasional travel as needed (wont be frequent).
Offer may be contingent upon a drug screen (which would include cannabis) and a background check.
