Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with the people we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver. Our residential locations in Omaha, NE are looking for weekend only hours.
What a Direct Support Professional Does : Works directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting them with day to day living activities. Supports individuals with activities and developing skills in a home environment and in community settings.
Hours : Weekend only shift starts at midnight on Friday and ends at midnight on Sunday. Flexibility is available, meaning you could work part-time hours every other weekend as weekend only OR work every weekend for full-time hours.
Skillset Needed for the Job : Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals.
Personality Traits : Empathy. Patience. Understanding. Compassion. Adaptable. Respectful. Dependable. Sound Judgement.
Requirements : Must be 18 years old. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass all background checks. Experience not required- we will train.
Pay : Starting at $17 / hr. We pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license. Incentives also available. We now offer for CNAs earn CEUs while working as a DSP (thanks to the Nebraska CNA bill we helped champion!)
