Position Overview

As a Sr. Fiber Optics Field Technician , you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks that power homes, businesses, and industries. This dynamic role keeps you out in the field, working with cutting-edge technology to ensure seamless communication networks.

What You'll Do

• Safely perform work in communications and energized spaces
• Participate in work requiring pole climbing and an elevated position in a bucket truck
• Lead cable stripping, cleaving, terminating, and testing
• Proficiently work with and calibrate fiber optic equipment
• Perform ring cuts on live fiber without affecting existing services
• Troubleshoot and repair common fiber optic equipment and component issues
• Complete documentation to include record-keeping, billing, inventory, etc.
• Generate trace reports and SEP (splice engineering package) files
• Calculate fiber optic facility attenuation budget
• Responsible for leading, mentoring, and training field staff and multiple crews
