Information Clerk / Receptionist
Collin County Government is seeking candidates for the position of Information Clerk / Receptionist. This position performs receptionist duties of average difficulty involving communication with the public and county employees.
Responsibilities include :
- Operates multi-line telephone to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls.
- May perform clerical duties such as typing, filing and proofreading.
- Work is performed under the direction of Criminal Justice Information Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidates must possess :
Knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.Level of education equivalent to four years of high school and (1) one year experience as a telephone operator, receptionist or general office position which includes public contact.Knowledge necessary to read and write, perform duties in case of extreme stress, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and learn to effectively use telephone and related equipment.Ability to hear and speak clearly and distinctly, deal effectively with the general public, and perform repetitious work over an extended period of time.Ability to type at the rate of at least 35 words a minute.Valid Texas Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.Testing Requirements :
This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again.If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete.Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm, Monday through Friday.
