“A Day in the Life”
In this position you will oversee, organize and track our warehouse inventory. Lead the implementation and become a subject matter expert for our new inventory system for our warehouse. Load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility. Receive, unpack, check, and store merchandise or materials. Fill requisitions and orders. Pack, crate, and ship products and materials to distribution center, departments, or assembly line.
“What You’ll Do”
Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials as neededAssist with developing and implementing a locator system to increase inventory traceability and picking efficiencyCollaborate with stakeholders to build and maintain a dynamic inventory system during the process startup phaseLead the creation of inventory spreadsheets using Excel, complete with SKU numbers, item descriptions, and locator assignmentsManage daily inventory activities including receiving, storing, counting, and issuing materialsSupport training on Zebra scanners and label printing devices when inventory goes liveEnsure production area organization and cleanlinessWorks closely with the purchasing agent to track and organize equipment and materialMay interact with vendors and suppliers and perform basic purchasing responsibilitiesMaintain inventory of materials and coordinates orders with purchasing agentReview and distribute material vouchersConduct safety behavioral observationsPerform other duties as assigned“Must Haves”
Prior experience of at least 3 years in the warehouse industry with an understanding of warehouse practices and proceduresBasic knowledge of the construction industry including materials / suppliesWillingness to grow with the role and help shape inventory processesProven experience in warehouse inventory managementAble to work outside in variable weather conditionsKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobComputer skills including Microsoft Office, especially strong Excel skills and experience building spreadsheets from scratchComfortable operating in evolving warehouse environmentAbility to work independently and be a self starterAbility to follow spoken and written instructionAbility to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and proceduresFamiliarity with SKU systems, locators, and basic warehouse technologiesSpecial Considerations :
Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the dayMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
