Corporate Continuous Improvement Engineer
Our client is a leading developer and supplier of innovative polymers, including synthetic elastomers and specialty chemicals. They are looking to fill a newly created Corporate Continuous Improvement Engineer position.
Responsibilities
- Drive overall productivity throughout manufacturing operations by leading and strengthening efficiencies with new and existing processes, driving cost savings programs, and developing a continuous improvement culture and mindset.
- Create, develop, improve tools, training, and tracking systems to ensure successful completion and sustainability of project deliverables. Be responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of those tools and systems, including training / coaching / mentoring others in their use.
- Work directly with teams at all sites to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement, then put plans in place to execute upon projects
- Drive, lead continuous improvement efforts and projects across operations
- Integrate and standardize productivity tools at all sites, including utilization of Six Sigma, LEAN, and 5S methodologies
- Train key personnel as necessary to ensure a consistent and effective methodology throughout operations
- Track and maintain consistency in reporting of operational excellence KPIs and cost metrics
- Responsible for developing a mechanism to track and ensure sustainability of declared benefits from projects at all sites
- Lead brainstorming sessions at all sites to keep a full and robust pipeline of continuous improvement projects. Work with leaders at each site to agree upon deliverables toward project executing, timing, and ownership
- Domestic travel required 5-10%
Job Requirements
B.S., Chemical Engineering is preferred. Will consider ME or Industrial Engineer with chemical experience5+ years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing is absolutely requiredExperience with a continual daily involvement with plant operations, recommending / implement changes to equipment and procedures that have provided ongoing improvement in variable cost, reliability, performance, safety, and productivityExamples of troubleshooting and resolving plant process or equipment problems, develop engineering solutions and overseeing the implementationSix Sigma Green / Black Belt highly desiredRelated Jobs
