Base pay range
$110,000.00 / yr - $115,000.00 / yr
The Director of Data Management and Strategic Analytics at Roosevelt University is a key position responsible for managing the institution’s data warehousing and strategic analytics infrastructure. This role blends the technical oversight of enterprise systems, including data integrations and architecture, with the strategic management of analytics to support institutional decision-making. The successful candidate will lead the implementation and optimization of Edify, EAB’s data management and analytics platform, leveraging it to centralize data, manage integrations, and produce actionable insights for a wide range of stakeholders.
The role requires a combination of technical acumen, data strategy expertise, and leadership skills to advance the institution’s data-informed culture. This position will be hybrid with the potential of being remote if the individual can visit the campus twice a year for in-person meetings and training. The Director of Data Management and Strategic Analytics will report to the AVP of Enterprise Applications.
Responsibilities
- Data Warehousing and Architecture : Lead the management and continuous improvement of the institution’s data warehouse, ensuring alignment with strategic data initiatives.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Edify, integrating with various SIS, ERP, LMS, and CRM systems (e.g., Banner, Blackboard, Slate, Degreeworks, and other identified systems).
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Architect and optimize data pipelines and workflows for efficient data integration and transformation.
- Manage data migrations and ETL processes to support institutional reporting and analytics.
- Ensure that data architecture supports compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FERPA).
- Strategic Analytics and Reporting : Develop and lead a strategy for delivering analytics solutions that inform strategic planning, student success initiatives, and operational improvements.
- Utilize Edify to centralize reporting and analytics, enabling consistent, accurate insights across departments.
- Lead the development of data models, dashboards, and reports to support institutional decision-making.
- Partner with academic and administrative units to identify key metrics and performance indicators. Oversee the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata management.
- Facilitate training and capacity-building for institutional stakeholders to maximize the use of analytics tools.
- Leadership and Collaboration : Collaborate with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, and other key stakeholders to understand data needs and develop solutions.
- Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences through presentations and workshops.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and institutional leadership to align data initiatives with strategic priorities.
- Lead the strategic planning for data management, analytics, and enterprise system enhancements.
- System and Data Integration : Ensure seamless integration between Edify and institutional systems to enable comprehensive data analysis and reporting.
- Manage API connections, data pipelines, and system interoperability to streamline data flow.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate with vendors and support teams to resolve problems efficiently.
