• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with acute psychiatric and behavioral health conditions\n
• Conduct mental status assessments and evaluate risk for self-harm or aggressive behavior\n
• Administer and monitor medications for therapeutic response and adverse effects\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans\n
• Utilize approved methods to de-escalate behavioral crises and maintain a safe therapeutic environment\n
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately within the EHR\n
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge processes\n
• Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and care coordination\n
• Ensure compliance with facility protocols and state / federal behavioral health regulations\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n
• Minimum of two (2) years of behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience\n\nEducation\n
• Required : Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN / ADN) from an accredited nursing program\n\nLicensure & Certifications\n
• Active New York State RN License\n
• Primary Source Verification from NYSED (New York State Department of Education)\n
