POSITION SUMMARY : We are looking for a Construction Superintendent for a new ground up multi-family development project. As a Superintendent your primary responsibility will be to manage, in collaboration with the Project Manager, the successful completion of assigned projects. The Superintendent is the lead for job site safety, quality control, and project schedule and is the liaison for all subcontractors and consultants on all field and constructability issues. This position reports to the Project Executive and Developer.

As a Superintendent your primary responsibility will be to manage, in collaboration with the Project Manager, the successful completion of assigned projects. The Superintendent is the lead for job site safety, quality control, and project schedule and is the liaison for all subcontractors and consultants on all field and constructability issues. This position reports to the Project Executive and Developer.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum 15 – 20 years of experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or equivalent role, in the construction industry. Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or related field, preferred. Superintendent candidates must have a solid understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning and scheduling, building trades and sequence of work, and relevant technology. Key competencies are leadership, initiative, communication, teamwork, managing for results, and coaching & mentoring. Must be able to read plans and specifications. Must have experience in the following construction Types : Type I-A; Type I-B; Type II-B; Type I-V; Type V-A; Type V-B; Multi-family podium new build. Technical skills : MS Project and MS Office Suite.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and / or humidity and cold, airborne particles, exposure to dust and asphalt, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud. The Superintendent is regularly required to : Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand; Talk and hear at normal levels; See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus; Reach with hands and arms; Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines; Lift and / or move up to 50-75 lbs.
