Manufacturing Production Planner
Responsible for the successful planning of production across any assigned production, compounding, and filling sections. This position works cross-functionally with many departments including Sales, Production, Compounding, Quality, Supply Chain, and upper management. Ensure all Work Orders (WO) are properly planned considering inventory, productivity, and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Production Planning : Develops and maintains schedules for compounding bulk and / or filling / assembly of Finished Goods (FG) across specific plant programs.
- Leads, organizes, and directs assigned programs through efficient planning and implementation. Guides and suggests on best practices as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reporting and Alignment : Calculates, tracks, and reports production execution plan. Integrates OEE and historical data into the planning process. Enlists and leads the Planning team to meet production program expectations and department KPIs.
- Excel : Maintains a proficient level of Microsoft Excel knowledge to be able to navigate schedules, reports, filters, charts, and formulae. Ability to develop and maintain trackers representing department KPIs.
- Communication : Communicates professionally with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Quality, Compounding, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure plan execution. Proficient in verbalizing efficiency and capacity related recommendations to Managers and upper Management.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork : Integrates feedback from Sales to ensure customer expectations are met, communicates with Production to react to any issues that arise, communicates with Quality to ensure materials and components are released for use within the validated schedule time fence, communicates with Purchasing to establish accurate ETAs for components and materials for use in forecasting.
- Leads and spearheads scheduling and validation meetings with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain. Ensures reports are generated for review prior to meetings and works with each department on best practices for successful collaboration.
- Provides feedback and suggestions to the Planning team on strategies and best practices.
- Forecasting : Analyzes and monitors historical production volumes to forecast and develop strategies for future production. Proposes ideas and problem-solving techniques for future planning and efficiency.
- Capacity Analysis : Determines capacity utilization and works with Sales and Operations to balance production constraints with customer requirements.
- Production Optimization : Integrates OEE, run rates, and set up times to align with Compounding and Production to drive efficiency and decrease downtime.
- Data Entry : Executes plans by entering and routing WOs through the company ERP system, keeping the online schedule and ERP accurate at all times. This includes monitoring firmed and planned WOs for accuracy of start date on the online schedule and in the company ERP System in real time.
- Leads and owns special projects as assigned inside their Month and Month +1 time fence as they relate to scheduling responsibilities.
- Works independently and takes initiative. Gathers information from the environment and utilizes in future planning and processes. Makes educated decisions and manages all aspects of their planning scope without supervision.
- Production Route Development : Manages and maintains production routing.
- Must promote and generate a culture of co-operation and high morale.
- Willingness to translate knowledge and train others in the department.
- Ability to assist the Master Scheduler when needed.

BS / BA degree from college / university.3 to 5 years of practical experience in Planning, preferably a manufacturing environment.In-depth understanding of SAGE X3 (or other ERP / MRP system).In-depth experience with Outlook and Excel, including formulae, filters, tables, and vlookups.Physical Requirements
