Plans, supervises, monitors and coordinates work of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers related to water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater operations and maintenance activities.

Education : High school diploma or GEDExperience : Five years progressively responsible experience in installation, construction, maintenance & repair activities associated with water, wastewater, or stormwater infrastructure. Plus 1 year of supervisory or leadwork experienceThorough knowledge of hazards, practices, procedures, equipment and tool operation, systems and processes common to water operations and common safety practices and proceduresThorough knowledge of blueprints, grade and elevation surveyingThorough knowledge of the City of AuroraTechnical knowledge of the water utility systemsKnowledge of excavation and trenching, traffic control and confined space entryStrong interpersonal, analytical and supervisory skillsSkilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools and equipment operationSkilled in training and monitoring of assigned personnelSkilled to recognize hazards, find resolution, specifications and attention to detailHandle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacyAbility to understand complex instructions, specifications and situations relative to job assignmentsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and citizensCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingAbility to understand oral and written instructionsEffective use of computers, electronic devices and programsDirect, train and effectively lead a diverse workforcePrioritize, organize and coordinate daily work activitiesAbility to problem solve with resolution on work sitesColorado Water Distribution 3 and Wastewater Collection 1, OR Colorado Wastewater Collection 3 and Water Distribution 1Essential Personnel : When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
