Investment Performance and Analytics Associate

What You'll Do

Principal Financial Group has an opportunity for an Investment Performance Associate to join our Investment Operations team. In this role, you'll support performance measurement and portfolio management process and tools, by providing total return calculations, analysis, research, and report preparation.

Here are a few examples of what you'll do as a member of the team :

• Develop / build out additional capabilities in support of new business and operational objectives.
• Ensure accurate and timely distribution of GIPS composite performance along with total return investment performance and risk measures for portfolios and benchmarks. Provide support to marketing area by responding to clients and consultants routine ad-hoc performance inquires and / or RFP / consultant questionnaires.
• Support various investment team's GIPS claim of compliance in line with CFA's Institute's Global Investment Performance Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Measure, calculate, analyze, and report on daily and periodic composite, index and portfolio performance, security level data and performance related statistics for assigned asset class portfolios; ensure accuracy and reasonableness of output.
• Research, and resolve complex performance investment performance data anomalies, system issues and / or client inquires. Prepare investment performance reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients' needs.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners including senior operations, client services, and compliance to share information and resolve problems.
• Support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, process reviews and / or system enhancements.
• Evaluate the firm's investment performance relative to client benchmarks.
• Provide training to junior staff and global team members as needed.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$67500 - $121200 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
