designs and deploys automation solutions to streamline business
processes and improve efficiency in IT Services and across the
university. The Automation Specialist collaborates with cross-functional
teams to turn ideas into reality, by translating business needs into
automated workflows that align with strategic goals. They serve as a
subject matter expert on automation and AI tools, keep technical
documentation up-to-date, and monitor systems to make sure our
automation solutions stay effective, resilient, and secure. Duties and
Responsibilities 1. Design, deploy, and maintain automation solutions.
Write code or leverage no-code / low-code tools to automate business
processes and integrate enterprise applications to enhance efficiency,
accuracy, and business performance. 2. Collaborate with cross-functional
teams to gather requirements and document workflows, objectives, and
functional interdependencies. Liaise with the business units and IT
Services to ensure that requirements are understood, and solutions align
with business objectives. 3. Administer IT Services\' automation
platform. Collaborate with ITS management and developers to maintain
user accounts, roles and permissions, and configurations in the
platform. Deploy solutions developed by other teams to the production
environment. Provide documentation and training to ITS developers and
other users. 4. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for
emerging automation and AI technologies to continuously improve
Marquette\'s capabilities. Identify new opportunities within IT Services
and other business units to leverage those technologies to solve
business challenges and optimize operations. 5. Monitor performance,
generate reports, and troubleshoot issues to continuously improve the
reliability, efficacy, and security of the solutions.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS : Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor\'s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or a related field A minimum of 4 years professional experience
using automation platforms or code, in the technical design,
i plementation, testing, and documentation of automation solutions, and
in collaborating with cross-functional teams to map and automate
business processes Previous workplace experience with web service
technologies and the ability to quickly learn and utilize APIs for
unfamiliar systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset Excellent communication and
collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical
Concepts To Non-technical Audiences Preferred Knowledge, Skills And
Abilities IT automation certification, e.g. ISA Certified Automation
Professional (CAP ) Experience with automation platforms and tools, e.g.
Power Platform, Workato, Selenium, Boomi, Mulesoft, or Informatica
Previous workplace experience with AI technologies and integrating them
Into Existing Systems Experience With Python, PowerShell, Or Other
programming languages commonly used in automation Proficiency with
modern development tools, e.g. Azure DevOps, and source control
methodologies, e.g. Git Familiarity with SQL and relational database
concepts Familiarity with process improvement methodologies Familiarity
