We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Wayne, Illinois. In this role, you will handle a variety of financial tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes. This position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and proficiency with QuickBooks.
Responsibilities :
- Reconcile accounts accurately and efficiently to ensure financial records are up to date.
- Perform minor general ledger tasks and assist with maintaining financial accuracy.
- Create and manage monthly accounting processes from start to finish, ensuring all necessary steps are completed.
- Update and maintain work orders to keep records organized and accessible.
- Develop comprehensive monthly checklists to streamline future bookkeeping processes.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision.
- Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as handle payroll processing.
- Track fixed assets and prepare detailed depreciation schedules.
- Oversee the work of entry-level bookkeepers and accounting clerks to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform month-end closings and prepare trial balances to finalize financial reports.
- A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, showcasing a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Solid skills in performing bank reconciliations and general ledger work.
- Familiarity with preparing trial balances and month-end closings.
- Ability to create and manage detailed workflows and checklists for financial tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial records.
