AGS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to lead our skilled nursing team as the Director of Skilled Nursing. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader who wants to continue their clinical practice while also guiding and growing a team of skilled nursing providers.
Position Summary
The Director of Skilled Nursing is an advanced practice provider who serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and manager for our team of skilled nursing providers. This role is a blend of clinical and administrative duties. You'll spend approximately 2-3 days a week providing direct patient care and 2-3 days a week on leadership and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management :
- Serve as the primary leader and point of contact for the skilled nursing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and high-quality patient care.
- Lead recruiting efforts for new skilled nursing providers.
- Oversee the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Optimize relationships between buildings and APs
- Interact with physician leaders to mediate internal conflicts
- Assist with development and monitoring of performance improvement plans
- Engage with the leadership team to evaluate SNF growth opportunities and direction of AGS SNF program.
- Clinical and Administrative Duties :
- Maintain an active clinical practice, providing direct patient care approximately 2-3 days per week.
- Develop and manage the team's schedule (APs and MDs) to ensure adequate coverage.
- Organize and lead regular meetings for providers to collaborate, share best practices, and engage in continuing education.
- Coordinate student preceptor experiences and manage relationships with universities.
- Work with leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Communication and Collaboration :
- Act as a liaison between the skilled nursing team and other departments, including administration.
- Champion a collaborative environment where providers feel empowered to share ideas and concerns.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.A minimum of 3 years of experience as an APRN, with a focus on skilled nursing or a related field.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
