Director of Product Management – Risk-Based Vulnerability Management - VMDR

About the job :

Join us at Qualys, where we are seeking an experienced director of product management for VMDR, our flagship Risk-Based Vulnerability Management solution. The ideal candidate will have full ownership of VMDR and related ecosystems such as Threat Intel and Certificate Lifecycle Management, with responsibilities spanning inbound and outbound product management.

You should be a subject matter expert in Risk-based Vulnerability Management, Attack Surface Management, Exposure Management, and Remediation. You will work closely with teams to align product roadmaps with customer needs across private, federal, and government sectors.

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Product Ownership : VMDR – Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response – RBVM
  • People / Team Ownership : Lead a team of 4-5 product managers and analysts

Key Metrics for Success :

  • Developing a multi-year product vision aligned with AI, Exposure Management, cloud, and platform expansion
  • Achieving measurable business impact through new initiatives, customer adoption, and cross-sell opportunities
  • Driving GTM product strategy to acquire new customers and increase market confidence
  • Maintaining high talent standards and execution excellence within teams
  • Enhancing market perception and analyst sentiment through increased coverage and recognition

    • Business Ownership and Responsibilities :

  • Act as the ‘Business Owner’ to grow revenue, prioritize features, and explore monetization strategies
  • Conduct regular business analyses and report on metrics like cross-sell, up-sell, renewal, and expansion
  • Generate leads through campaigns and convert pipeline into sales
  • Evaluate pricing and packaging options to boost customer adoption and revenue
  • Innovate in product-led growth and sales motions, leveraging digital marketing and demand generation

    • Outbound Product Management Responsibilities :

  • Create sales enablement materials, including presentations and demo scripts
  • Develop compelling GTM messaging and positioning
  • Research competitors and develop strategies to differentiate our products
  • Support sales with product explanations, use cases, and value demonstrations
  • Build strong customer relationships to inform product development
  • Train sales teams on product value and demonstrations

    • Inbound Product Management Responsibilities :

  • Own the VMDR product line and its ecosystems
  • Define and evangelize strategy, vision, and execution plans
  • Introduce innovative ideas like Agentic AI workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Engage with customers to prioritize impactful features

    • Qualifications :

  • Extensive experience in Risk-based Vulnerability Management, Attack Surface, Exposure Management, and related platforms
  • 5+ years in product management or 8+ years in technical leadership roles in cloud security
  • 3+ years managing a team of product managers and analysts
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains like Patch Management and Mitigation
  • Optional : knowledge of EDR, CNAPP, and other security areas
  • Experience in technical documentation and speaking engagements
  • Passion for innovation and data-driven decision-making
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering; MBA preferred

    • Salary Range : $185,000 - $210,000
