SENIOR POLICY ADVISOR

Our client, an international Amlaw 50 firm with a renowned Lobbying & Public Policy practice , is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, policy, and national security, advising clients on legislative and regulatory issues that directly impact defense and security priorities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record required
• JD from a top-tier law school or Master’s degree strongly preferred
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia (if JD holder) or relevant policy credentials .
• 10+ years of substantive experience in national security and / or defense policy
• Extensive experience with policy issues and legislation related to national security and defense
• Experience working on Capitol Hill , ideally with congressional committees of jurisdiction for national security and defense policy; experience in relevant executive branch agencies may substitute for Hill experience
• In-depth understanding of defense budgeting , appropriations , and authorization processes
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior government officials and craft persuasive advocacy materials
• Strong network and credibility within the national security and defense policy community
• Ability to manage complex, high-stakes policy initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary : $225,000 - $400,000 annually, as determined by experience and market factors.
