Schedule Options :

• Position 1 : MondayFriday, 11 : 00 AM 7 : 00 PM , with 12 hours of call every other weekend
• Position 2 : MondayFriday, 7 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM , with 12 hours of call every other weekend

Contract Type : Contract

Pay Rate : $67 / hour

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurses (RNs) for contract opportunities in Washington, DC . The OR RN will perform both scrub and circulating duties , ensuring the highest standards of aseptic technique and patient care throughout the surgical process.

This role requires critical thinking, effective communication, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality operative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care during operative procedures as a scrub and / or circulating nurse.
• Prepare the operating room by assembling and checking necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Ensure all equipment is functional and appropriate implants / supplies are available before procedures.
• Adhere to sterile technique and infection control standards at all times.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the intraoperative phase.
• Serve as a liaison and resource for patients, families, and members of the surgical team.
• Support surgical team efficiency and safety through effective coordination and communication.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications :

Basic Life Support ( BLS )

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS )
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS )
• Licensure :

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC

• Experience :

Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience required

• Education :

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program Required

• BSN Highly desired
