Great Georgia location with a manufacturing leader offering a career opportunity in the Corporate Engineering Group.  As the Controls - Electrical Engineer, you will provide support to multiple manufacturing plants in the US, for plant upgrade and expansion projects.  This will include project design, development through construction and installation for electrical power distribution, PLCs, hydraulic / pneumatic, mechanical system interface, networking, and process plant systems.  30% travel is required.

Job Description

Initiate, propose and implement Controls / Electrical capital and upgrade projects for multiple US manufacturing plant sites. Write the justification for all Electrical projects and processes through required channels for changes in operating procedures and / or process equipment to improve efficiency and safety and to eliminate down time.

Submit written project proposals including cost estimates for both material and labor, CAD drawings and specifications, justifications for expenditures, and evaluation of economic factors.  Create mechanical, structural, civil and electrical designs required for construction, installation or modification of plant processes and structures.  Meet with vendors, run trials and evaluate new technology for best-suited equipment selection.

Secure the availability of equipment, materials, and qualified contract labor for projects by developing and submitting timely requisitions for procurement and hiring.

Plan, design, and oversee equipment construction / installation while supporting efficient plant operations.

Ensure supervision of contract workforce, perform housekeeping and safety inspections and complete quality work in a timely manner. Assist production with new or modified equipment and processes through training, written operating procedures and trial runs.

Complete projects in timely manner by tracking and developing construction schedules and plans, and requisitioning certified contract labor.

Provide ongoing Electrical Engineering support for manufacturing operations, mechanical systems, and plant facilities.

Qualifications

BS Electrical Engineering degree with 7+ years Project / Design Engineering experience of Controls / Power Distribution Systems, Networking, Integration for Chemical / Manufacturing Plants

Extensive knowledge of PLCs, low to high voltage power distribution

Proficiency in Wonderware and Allen Bradley Control Logix preferred

Experience with Electrical Construction : Cable Trays, conduit, routing, trouble shooting and verification of installation

Experience with AC drive installation, setup and troubleshooting

Demonstrated project management skills

Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now and in the future
