Position Summary
The internship is an ideal opportunity for a Housing Authority resident, student, or recent graduate who has a passion for social work and providing support to the participants in SLHA's Public Housing Program. This internship will offer an opportunity to acquire hands-on experience by supporting diverse populations through positive customer service and administrative support. Interns would work closely with SLHA's Asset Management Department and learn about the agency's public housing and mixed-finance developments throughout the City of St. Louis.
Typical job duties may include :
- Welcoming, assisting, and directing callers and visitors to the appropriate personnel and resources (both internal and external)
- Responding to inquiries, including phone calls, emails, and visitors to the primary office
- Assisting applicants with online applications and troubleshooting issues with SLHA's online application portal.
- Assisting applicants with paper applications (if a reasonable accommodation is needed)
- Assisting with outreach to developments, community partners, etc. before the opening of SLHA's Public Housing Waitlist
- Routine scanning of documents and filing
- Proofreading and editing documents
- Data entry, generating reports, and preparing spreadsheets
- Entering and searching for information in databases
Required Qualifications :
Current student or recent graduate from a college / university program in Social Work, Public Administration, Business or related field.Clerical and / or customer service experience.Hours
Interns can work a flexible schedule during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Approximately 20 hours per weekCompensation
$15 per hour
