Job Overview

The Vice President, High Net Worth Planning Services Strategist provides support to affiliated advisors serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutional clients. This support includes strategy development for holistic and estate planning, practice coaching, transition support, client presentation, and implementation. Position interacts primarily with Linsco and Private Wealth Management financial advisors and with colleagues within Advisory & Brokerage, LPL Research, Financial Planning, Private Trust Company, Fixed Income, Insurance, BTS, and LPL Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Case Consultations - Must be able to navigate sophisticated and complex cases and clients. Required to consult with financial advisors on new sales opportunities, which are escalated from various departments at LPL Financial. This involves performing a detailed needs analysis of the prospect through analyzing existing client profile specifics, identifying complex planning needs, understanding short and long-term goals for assets.
  • Leadership This role will be leading the HNW supported affiliation model group of subject matter experts in investments, tax and estate planning. This individual will report directly to the SVP, HNW Planning Services, Wealth Planning. Some subject matter expertise in tax, estate, and investments to effectively lead specified focus individuals. Ability to diffuse tense situations, deploy experts and masterful in multi- functional team dynamics.
  • Technical Planning Acumen Must have advanced understanding to position and implement complex financial, estate, philanthropic, tax, and business planning. Knowledge of eMoney strongly preferred.
  • Training and Education - Required to train advisors on the various needs of individual and institutional clients as described above as well as the features and functionality of the LPL Financial Advisory platforms. Additional guidance must be given around practice management, positioning of firm identity, economics, and portfolio construction considerations. Candidate must possess the ability to articulate market and economic impacts as well as technical investment characteristics of portfolios and underlying securities.
  • Transition support Providing support for advisors joining Linsco / PW
  • Marketing - Must be able to assist in the creation of marketing materials for the High Net Worth team which articulates the value proposition of the team. These marketing efforts include but are not limited to writing articles for various LPL publications, writing copy for brochures and creating client facing materials such as fact finders.
  • Opportunity and Engagement Tracking and Reporting - Must be able to manage opportunity and engagement-tracking database and manipulate the data for various levels of sales and activity reporting. Strong follow through and follow- up with other leaders, advisors and team members.
  • Speaking, Presentation and Presence Polished, approachable and organized speaking and engagement presence one of one or one to many.

Requirements

  • CFP, JD or LLM
  • Bachelors degree
  • 10+ years experience with a focus in advisory and fee based platforms, advanced financial, tax and estate planning, and institutional client needs
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Some travel expected to regional, national, and advisor events / offices for consultation support and training
  • Preferences

  • Series 7 and 65 or 66
  • Modeling HNW / UHNW eMoney Scenarios
  • Graduate Degree
  • Wire house, Field Management or Private Banking experience

    Pay Range :

    $157,500-$262,500 / year Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
