Position Summary

The 1st Shift Warehouse Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and execution of warehouse operations and associated processes / procedures. This Manager will effectively lead, train, and continually develop the 1st Shift team, which includes the Shipping, Returns, Receiving and Put Away teams. The ideal candidate is analytical, well organized, and an excellent communicator, with strong knowledge of warehouse best practices. They must also be comfortable with paperwork and information systems. The 1st Shift Manager provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions

• Oversee warehouse operations and the 1st Shift team, including Shipping, Returns, Receiving, and Put Away teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
• Use software to track, check, prioritize, and route customer orders.
• Sell and write orders, as needed.
• Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notices, packing slips, bills of lading, etc.
• Direct the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
• Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
• Supervise and lead subordinate team members.
• Manage the warehouse budget.
• Collaborate with warehouse, drivers, dispatch, and other managers to optimize processes.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Accurately pick, pack, and load customer orders onto delivery vehicles.
• Demonstrate company core values and best practices.
• Exemplify dedication to customer satisfaction with superior experience.
• Assign work orders to staff and ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Investigate items not found by staff and make appropriate adjustments and reports.
• Record daily attendance and ensure team members are compliant with proper PPE.
• Sort, count, package, label, ensure, unpack, and / or log inventory which is shipped.
• Prepare routine reports and file shipping records.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, crane, and / or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate a shrink wrap machine.
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
• Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
