The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for inventory accuracy in the facility. This position is a hands-on position, and it’s estimated that approximately 85% of a typical day will be physically counting inventory, ensuring proper FEFO, Lot code tracking, and assisting with operational inventory issues. The remaining time will be spent researching root causes of found inventory errors and working with other team members and functions to ensure proper procedures are followed. The schedule is Sunday-Thursday.
Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
- Physically count items in inventory using appropriate processes, and forms
- Build and use reports to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Maintain inventory accuracy and FEFO on pick line
- Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives that streamline and simplify the flow of product and system scans
- Identify and document root causes of inventory inaccuracies
- Update and maintain inventory quantities in ERP / WMS system when discrepancies are found
- Resolve Outbound order errors when they occur in the facility
- Proactively set up and drive cross-functional corrective actions plans to eliminate root causes identified and support the change process
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or GED2+ years’ Cycle Count or Inventory Coordination experienceFrequently required to stand, walk, stoop, keel or crouchOccasionally lift and / or move up to 50 poundsEffectively communicate cross-functionally in a collaborative mannerProficient in Excel and able to develop clear and concise spreadsheets and reportsWork in various temperature ranges from -10 to ambientMust obtain lift certification within 30 days of startPreferred Skills and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent experienceExperience in a production environmentExperience in a food production environmentPhysical Requirements
