Shift : 3 : 00 pm – 11 : 00 pm OR 4 : 00 pm – 12 : 00 AM
The Facilities Specialist provides safety, security, and related technical support for Facilities Services to Team Director and others as needed.
Essential Functions
Under Direction :
- Respond quickly to all emergency janitorial calls from the Lobby, OACIS, CRU, SSU and YFCC.
- Complete an incident report (IR) after all emergency calls for janitorial services
- Oversee and coordinate all safety and security issues relative to the physical plant and grounds and assure compliance with all applicable laws and acceptable business practice.
- Manage building / office related objectives including building maintenance / repair. Monitor, manage, and oversee the work product of building / office related contractors.
- Coordinate office space and employee moves – with lead from supervisor.
- Works with Director of Facilities on OCHN accreditations for sections involving health, safety, and OCHN premises.
- Respond, coordinate, and perform minor maintenance activities (repairs) and requests to move furniture, etc. (staff & tenants request)
- Provide coaching and other technical assistance to other staff as assigned.
- Serve as Liaison with parking, and with police and fire regarding local issues.
- Manage coffee supplies, including paper goods. Work with coffee vending to place orders while remaining within budget.
- Manage First Aid Cabinet, working with vendor to stay within budget.
- Order and distribute office supplies.
- Assist with tenant issue and oversight.
- Work with Director of Facilities to monitor the HVAC equipment through the BMS system.
- Monitor and manage other special projects as assigned.
- Coordinate efforts with all other teams.
- Managing the fire alarm panel including resetting alarms.
- On-call availability will be required as needed to address urgent facility issues after hours.
- Although the primary work location is in Pontiac, MI, occasional travel to the Troy, MI location may be required for Facilities support as needed.
- Carry and maintain communication devices, including company phone and walkie-talkie, to ensure constant availability and coordination.
- Conduct safety drills during shift and provide training.
- Other general duties as assigned by Facilities Director or designee.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience in safety and facilities management may be considered.Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates) :
Experience Requirements :
Minimum three years’ experience in safety and facilities management preferred.Experience in purchasing, procurement, business administration, public administration, accounting, or related area which includes contact with the public.Job Specific Competencies / Skills :
Knowledge of applicable safety practices and OSHA regulations.Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of building maintenance services.Knowledge of budget preparation and analysisKnowledge of contract processes and requirements preferred.Knowledge of purchasing and procurement practices and policies including laws and regulations regarding public procurement preferred.Understanding of facility and information technologiesOakland Community Health Network’s Core Competencies :

Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc. :
