Fitter / Welder - 2nd Shift

Qualifications

The Industrial Welder / Fitter will be able to perform ASME quality in one or more of the following disciplines; Stick (SMAW), Flux Core (FCAW) and / or Tig (GTAW). Position will be responsible for reading and interpreting P&ID's and blueprints in order to join, fit, fabricate and assemble tanks and / or heaters to project specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and operations with mathematical data.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools and devices in the manufacturing of tanks or heaters.
• Apply standard welding techniques for the purpose of joining and repairing metal and other weld material . \n
• Perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Continually seek ways to improve processes and workflow to drive positive change.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Accomplish department and company mission by achieving set goals.
• Promote and educate others on Astec's core values.
• Follow company policies, procedures and safety rules at all times.
