CNC Machinist (III)

Job Summary
The CNC Machinist (III) is responsible for proficient operation of HAAS Milling Machines or HAAS Lathes. This is a hands-on role that includes setup, operation, and programming. The machinist must be highly skilled in interpreting drawings, selecting appropriate tools, and executing precision machining tasks. Familiarity with CNC programming platforms such as AutoCAD, Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Geomagic, and VX Elements is essential. All work must meet specifications regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret drawings, sketches, blueprints, or schematics
Set up and operate HAAS CNC equipment with correct feeds and speeds
Use Quantum Labor Scanning to track job progress
Perform precision machining with tight tolerances
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
Maintain and clean CNC machinery
Follow safety protocols and report irregularities
Maintain accurate production records
Perform other duties as assigned (occasional mandatory overtime may be required)
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 6 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a machine shop environment
Requirements Required Skills & Abilities
Proficient in CNC G-Code and M-Code
Skilled in part setup, tooling selection, and safe machine operation
Familiarity with shop tools : micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.
Understanding of feeds and speeds for aerospace and other materials
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Attention to detail and ability to read technical blueprints
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Must understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English (FAA Part 145)
Must comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing under FAA Part 120
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Frequent use of hands and fingers to control equipment
Regular lifting up to 25 lbs; frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting over 50 lbs with assistance
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
Regular exposure to machinery and tool-related noise
