Under general supervision of the SSVF Program Director, the Case Manager will provide all services and support as set forth in the program description. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Case Manager. The SSVF Case Manager will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support and assistance to veterans and their families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. This position involves coordinating and implementing a range of services to help clients achieve housing stability and improve overall well-being.
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 a.m.-5 : 00 p.m.
Rate of Pay : $20-$23 / hour
Accountabilities
Complete intake processes and gather necessary documentation to determine program eligibility.
Develop and implement individualized housing stability plans for veterans, outlining short-term and long-term goals.
Collaborate with landlords, housing authorities, and other community partners to secure suitable and affordable housing options for veterans residing in the 30-county area of southcentral and southeastern Kansas.
Administer financial assistance to eligible veterans for rent, utilities, and other housing-related expenses.
Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, such as imminent homelessness or emergencies.
Advocate on behalf of veterans to ensure access to benefits and other supportive services.
Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human services. Preference to applicants possessing degree in social work, sociology or psychology OR
Class C driver’s license, personal motor vehicle, and personal motor vehicle insurance required.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services, demonstrating effective support and success in working with low-income, socioeconomically vulnerable individuals, including military veterans.
Demonstrates competency in use of personal computer via mouse and keyboard, familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products.
Controlled inside work environment with noise / vibrations from general office equipment. Minimal exposure to fumes / dust / odors.
Work Type : Light, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
