Lead Contract Specialist with Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- You will develop and execute comprehensive contract compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- You will review procurement reporting systems and contract writing systems to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions to ensure accurate and timely contract reporting.
- You will lead a team, assigning tasks based on workload priorities, skill levels, and operational requirements.
- You will ensure the team meets deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- You will represent the team in discussions with the supervisor regarding resources, staffing needs, and operational requirements.
- You will resolve simple, informal employee complaints and refer complex issues (e.g., grievances, appeals) to the appropriate management or HR officials.

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.This is a bargaining unit position.Education : A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. Note : DoD education requirements apply to certain DoD GS-1102 positions as described in the original job text.Experience : In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate : experience in contract law and legal precedents as it relates to FAR / DFARS / NMCARS; knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, cost accounting systems, and contractor claims avoidance and settlement techniques; reviewing contractor proposals, managing contract modifications, and overseeing contractor performance; training and coaching employees on contract policy; creating and updating policies and procedures for contract administration.Education / DoD Qualification : DoD 1102 contracting positions; a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (see details in the original posting).
