The Aerodynamics & Acoustics team at RTX Technology Research Center invites individuals with aerodynamics and / or aeroacoustics expertise and strong analytical and numerical physics-based modeling skills to apply for an open position.
What you will do :
- We are seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join our cohesive team of engineers and technicians who are focused on developing innovative technologies and solving challenging problems for aerospace and defense applications.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams in areas such as propulsion systems, turbomachinery, compression systems, and high-speed flows.
- Innovative in the delivery of advanced technology through creative analysis and problem solving; to possess the ability to select and deploy appropriate modeling fidelity for a given problem including the application of high-fidelity computational models; to communicate research results effectively through both verbal and written means; and to participate in the creation of research proposals to RTX business units and government agencies.
What you must have :
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experienceExperience in fluid mechanics / aerodynamics / aeroacoustics / aeroelastics as applied to propulsion systems, rotor technologies, turbomachinery, compression systems, or high-speed flows with experience in the application of computational fluid dynamics in one or more of these areas.Experience in the application of analytical skills towards the development of new technologies.U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.Qualifications We Prefer :
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or closely related field.Ph.D. candidates with no formal experience will be considered.
