Quality Manager – Kent, WA, USA. The Quality Manager is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring our products meet or exceed all customer requirements. This includes providing direction for the Quality strategy, managing Quality Department staff, maintaining compliance to customer, regulatory and industry quality requirements, and ensuring robust and timely corrective action processes are being adhered to.
Summary pay range : $115,842 - $198,586 annually.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations :
Responsibilities
- Safety : Maintaining a safe work environment and operation. Ensure all members of the quality team are following safety protocols and procedures.
- Leadership : Provide hands-on leadership and coaching of a large team that spans both hourly and salary, from inspection, through technicians, to supervisors, to engineering.
- Quality System : Provide leadership and expertise to implement, improve and maintain aerospace quality systems which include AS9100 and Nadcap. Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance to quality standards. Oversee the document control function for the site. Manage the processes and certification of production employees.
- Product Conformance : Responsible for all reports and systems to demonstrate product conformance. Prepare quality plans / manuals on existing and new products; plans include sampling, customer requirements, etc., to ensure product quality. Review manufacturing documents for compliance to quality requirements; oversee the quality approval of shop orders and Manufacturing and Inspection records (M&IR).
- Non-Conformance Management : Facilitate and coordinate quality improvement and root-cause corrective action projects as required. Manage non-conformance processes to ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
- Customer Management : Interface with customers to demonstrate compliance with customer quality requirements. Serve as a primary resource in researching and responding to customer complaints, rejections, and requests for corrective action, to enhance positive customer and supplier relationships. Prepare and present detailed management-oriented reports as required.
- Employee Training : Develop, oversee and support an improved training program to ensure employees are capable and ready for the work required.
- Continuous Improvement : Scope, organize, and conduct Kaizen events and Lean / 5S activities. Oversee / lead Six Sigma projects and activities using the DMAIC process.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in science, engineering, economics, or business. Master's Degree preferred. ASQ certification (e.g., CQE - Certified Quality Engineer or CQM - Certified Quality Manager).5+ years of experience leading AS9100 quality systems in a manufacturing environment.Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated leadership ability to drive step-change improvements in quality performance.Experience in a Nadcap environment with composite part production is highly desired.Strong working knowledge of and experience using Six Sigma and Lean tools.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.Ability to work effectively both independently and in a cross-functional team environment.Benefits & Additional Information
