Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee operations at a key upholstered furniture manufacturing facility. The GM will be responsible for leading the entire site—managing multiple departments including production, supply chain, customer service, purchasing, and product development. This role is hands-on, highly visible across the floor, and focused on driving efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction while developing a strong leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations across production, supply chain, customer service, purchasing, and product development.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and cost management.
- Manage and mentor a leadership team including Directors of Product Development, Customer Service, and the Plant Manager.
- Partner with product development to ensure seamless integration of new designs into production.
- Collaborate with customer service to maintain exceptional standards and integrate client feedback.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control to uphold high-end craftsmanship.
- Track and report performance metrics and financial results to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Experience in high-end furniture manufacturing required; upholstery knowledge strongly preferred.5–7 years of progressive leadership as a Plant Manager, Director of Operations, or equivalent, with oversight across multiple departments.Proven success managing teams of 80+ employees.Hands-on leadership style, with a strong presence on the floor and ability to engage across hourly and office staff.Skilled in plant operations, production planning, supply chain, and quality management.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus.Expertise in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and financial management.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Benefits
