Detox Registered Nurse (Full-Time, Overnight)

Job Type\n\nFull-time\n\nDescription\n\nOvernight Detox Registered NurseCanaan, CT\n\nAbout The Position\n\nMountainside is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) for our Detoxification Program. The Detox Nurse is responsible for the medical and health-related management of clients, including completing initial nursing assessments, administering medications per detox protocols and / or other MD / APRN order, and assessing clients daily to ensure a safe and successful detox experience. They will monitor for withdrawal symptoms, response to medications, vital signs, and will communicate findings and concerns to MD / APRN. The Detox Nurse will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and will attend all clinical and treatment meetings.\n\nSchedule\n\nFull-Time, 36 hours per week, 7 : 00 pm - 7 : 00 am\n\nYour Role\n

• Complete nursing assessment upon admission to the program\n
• Oversee the safe administration of medications, being mindful of medication interactions and preventing medication errors\n
• Maintain client medical health records according to DPH, CARF, TJC, ASAM, OSHA and Mountainside policies and procedures\n
• Attend to day-to-day health situations that may arise among clients\n
• Ensure implementation of appropriate detox protocols and all other policies and procedures\n
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms of clients and attend to health needs\n
• Is alert for signs and symptoms of emerging medical or psychiatric complications, and communicates findings / concerns to MD / APRN and other members of the treatment team\n\nQualifications\n
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred\n
• Current active CT license as a registered nurse required\n
• Experience with both general medical and psychiatric populations\n
• One year experience in substance abuse treatment or behavioral health preferred\n
• Computer skills (email, Electronic Medical Records & Microsoft Office)\n
• Understanding and awareness of withdrawal symptoms.\n
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as necessary.\n
• Able to provide thorough physical assessments of clients\n\nCompensation\n
• The base salary range for the position is $35.00-$45.00 per hour before any shift differentials. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.\n
• The following shift differentials are offered on top of the normal hourly rate : \n
• Overnight 11pm-7am - $9.00 per hour\n
• Saturday and Sunday 7am-11pm - $5.00 per hour\n
• Evening 3pm-11pm - $4.00 per hour\n
