Overview
Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests / customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
- Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
- Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building shut-offs.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate each day"s activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs and standards.
- Display proficiency in categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic / electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and / or general building management.
- Display knowledge and safe use of hand and power tools and other materials used for repair and maintenance tasks.
- Repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering) and troubleshoot basic repairs on equipment (pump / motor), plumbing (toilets, drains), electrical items (lamps, extension cords, vacuums, internet devices, switches, outlets), and other guestroom items.
- Program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
- Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A / C filter replacement, and cleanup of repair areas.
- Use the Lockout / Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Display working knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and related systems.
- Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Train and mentor other engineers (e.g., Engineer I) and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Perform physical tasks as needed (lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance, navigating stairs, ramps, and ladders) and use computers to locate work-related information. Qualifications
